Overview
Ho Chi Minh City Museum — Smart Museum
Ho Chi Minh City Museum Smart Museum was part of a digital tourism and remote museum experience initiative in Ho Chi Minh City, created to help visitors explore cultural and historical exhibitions without needing to be physically present.
The project aimed to bring the museum’s exhibition space into a digital environment, allowing audiences to view artifacts, exhibition areas, and historical stories through an online museum experience.
In this project, I worked as both a designer and engineering contributor, supporting the digitization pipeline from physical artifacts to web-ready digital assets. My work included scanning museum objects, processing 3D artifact models, retexturing scanned assets, and creating visual assets for the web product.
My role focused on preparing museum content for digital presentation: cleaning and optimizing scanned models, improving textures, supporting the visual direction of the online experience, and ensuring the artifacts remained clear, recognizable, and suitable for a remote viewing experience.
The project helped extend the museum experience beyond the physical exhibition space, supporting remote tourism, cultural education, and digital access to Ho Chi Minh City’s historical and cultural artifacts.
